People can often become desperate to achieve a rapid weight loss, turning to unhealthy fad diets that promise quick results. But fad diets are never the answer for a healthy lifestyle and long-term weight loss. And here are some reasons why you should completely avoid them:

Fad diets are deficient in nutrients. Over time you will lack energy due to vitamin and mineral deficiencies, leaving you feeling sluggish and unmotivated.

Fad diets are short-term and not sustainable. They also lead to binge eating, which is how the dreaded “diet binge cycle” can set in, as a result of too few calories and starvation. Definitely not the recipe for success!

You can’t learn effective lifestyle strategies from a fad diet. Fad diets are not educational or inspiring. Learning practical and realistic behaviours to adapt your lifestyle is the only way to achieve long-term success
